Client Projects

Nothing is more important to us than the security concerns of our clients. Here are a few examples of what we did for our clients:

Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup, Kent
Queen Mary's Hospital is a large medical facility with over 600 people. The general services manager asked for our help in devising an efficient and secure method for managing huge volumes of confidential waste paper.

The previous system involved hospital porters delivering and collecting sacks. This created a housekeeping problem and was a drain on the porter's time.

We recommended using lockable bins placed at key points around the hospital. The bins come in a variety of sizes. So, for medical records we used a 360-litre bin instead of 3 smaller bins.
The bins come in a variety of sizes - from 120-litre upwards. Therefore, we could size bins accordingly to Department requirements - so large users such as Medical Records were provided with an appropriate size container.

Lockable bins have a paper slot at the top, so contents cannot escape - reducing fire risk. The system is clean and easy to use by all staff. We empty bins on a weekly basis. The client is charged only for weight of contents - so, no waste, no charge.

Waste paper is shredded, baled and recyled to make tissue products. Regular clients receive an annual certificate showing their contribution to recycling.

"We now have a more efficient system and PHS Datashred have proved to be an excellent service provider over the last 10 months.
We also enhanced our recycling operation as PHS Datashred recycled over 25 tonnes of paper after shredding."

London Borough of Hounslow
The London Borough of Hounslow wanted to improve arrangements for secure disposal of confidential waste. They asked us to come up with ideas that provided value for money, yet were secure and efficient.

We placed 60 secure containers at key points around their offices.
The facilities manager kept a log of bin contents and when they were full. This was presented to our driver on a weekly basis.

The whole operation was smoother, efficient and provided better value.

"Our whole system for confidential waste is more structured and efficient. PHS Datashred always arrive on time; their staff are smart and helpful. We're pleased to have chosen them as our contractor."

Ministry of defence
Huge amounts of material are designated for safe disposal each week. We were asked to improve efficiency and security measures at four MOD sites in central London on behalf of Amey.

Previous arrangements were unreliable and irregular. Sacks were used for storage and collection. Mindful of both security and manual handling regulations, we recommended a range of lockable bins. This was particularly important at some sites where restricted access determined container size.

Collections were made twice a week and bins swapped for empty units. The audit trail is clear and easy to follow.

"The system is more efficient and professional than before. Also, we cannot fault the attitude of PHS Datashred and particularly the drivers that visit our sites - nothing is too much trouble for them - they will even take away old pallets and office furniture at very short notice."

Thomson Snell & Passmore, Law firm
"The destruction of confidential material, be it a photocopy reference to a client or entire client files, is of the utmost importance, both from a commercial and also compliance perspective. PHS Datashred therefore perform a vital function for our firm. When you also take into account their competitive pricing, friendly and helpful attitude it really makes good sense all-round having them take care of destroying our confidential material."
